Air Taxis to Connect Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah by 2027
13.10.2025

In just a few years, traveling between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah will become faster and more convenient than ever. In the first half of 2027, the UAE is set to launch passenger air taxi flights between the two emirates — a groundbreaking project announced by Joby Aviation, a U.S.-based pioneer in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

Faster Than a Car

Today, the journey between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah takes around 60 to 90 minutes by car. Soon, that same route will take just 15 minutes by air.

In the first phase, Joby’s air taxis will operate between Dubai International Airport and Al Marjan Island, home to the upcoming Wynn Resorts — one of the region’s most anticipated luxury destinations.

The second phase will extend flights to Jebel Jais, the UAE’s highest mountain and a popular hotspot for adventure tourism and outdoor recreation.

How the System Will Work

The project is the result of a partnership between Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA), Joby Aviation, and Skyports Infrastructure. Under the agreement, Joby will not only provide inter-emirate connectivity but also launch an urban air taxi network within Ras Al Khaimah itself.

This initiative is part of the emirate’s Comprehensive Mobility Plan 2030, aimed at promoting sustainable transportation, reducing emissions, and enhancing quality of life.

Each air taxi will carry one pilot and four passengers, reach speeds of up to 321 km/h, and operate on fully electric propulsion, making it an eco-friendly alternative to traditional transport.

Regional Impact

The introduction of air taxis represents not just a technological breakthrough, but also a strategic boost to the UAE’s tourism and investment landscape.

The new route will enable residents and visitors to reach key resort destinations, business centers, and investment zones in record time — strengthening connections between Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.

For property owners and investors, this development translates into increased real estate value in areas with strong transport connectivity — particularly in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, where infrastructure expansion is driving demand.

Key Takeaway

Joby’s air taxis will mark the dawn of a new era in urban mobility across the UAE. By 2027, traveling between emirates will take just minutes — unlocking fresh opportunities for tourism, business, and real estate investment.
