RTA upgrades lighting on pedestrian bridges

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has begun upgrading lighting systems on 30 pedestrian bridges across the emirate.

The project involves installing energy-efficient LED lighting equipped with motion sensors. The lights will automatically turn on when a person steps onto the bridge and switch off once the pedestrian has crossed.

Work on all sites is scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026.

The remaining sites are scheduled for upgrades in subsequent phases. The RTA intends to fully complete the program by the fourth quarter of 2026.
