Dubai is back in the Guinness Book of Records
In September 2025, Dubai Police officially recorded a new global achievement. An unmanned aerial vehicle developed at the Police Drone Center, accelerated to record speed 580 km/h, therefore gaining status the fastest drone in the world. The result was achieved after a series of 10 launches and was recognized Guinness Book of Records.
Technology that is ahead of time
The project was the result international engineering cooperation: Specialists from the Dubai Police Unmanned Systems Center, as well as engineers Luke Bell and Mike Bell, worked on the drone.
This is not just an engineering feat — it is demonstration of the emirate's strategic course for development innovative security solutions and the introduction of advanced technologies into the daily work of law enforcement agencies.
Why do police need the fastest drone?
Police officials explain: high-performance unmanned systems is a tool immediate response and preventive control, especially in a metropolis with high requirements for the speed and accuracy of the work of special services.
This drone is capable of:
• quickly cover large areas during search and rescue operations,
• monitor inaccessible locations,
• instantly transfer data in crisis situations, where seconds count.
Innovation is part of the security strategy
The Dubai record is not an isolated case, but part of the systematic work, aimed at strengthening Dubai's status as the safest and most technologically advanced aggregation in the region. The city already has:
• police supercar fleet (including Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini, Ferrari),
• Smart Police Stations system without employees,
• first responders with AI and IoT integration.
Now it is added to this list and record drone, which works at the limit of aerodynamics.
Dubai as a global security technology hub
Dubai police have officially announced that the achievement is in line with the course for formation of the “police of the future”, where the key elements will be:
• unmanned platforms,
• artificial intelligence,
• digital coordination of actions on the ground and in the air.
Drone innovations pave the way for creation hybrid response teams, where machines and people act in sync. This is not just a trend, but a necessity in a growing metropolis with millions of residents and tourists.
