Six Flags Qiddiya City will be the first facility launched by the Qiddiya megaproject
Saudi Arabian authorities have announced their readiness to open a theme park Six Flags Qiddiya City, which will receive the first visitors December 31. The park will be the first facility to be put into operation as part of a large-scale entertainment project Qiddiya, which is being implemented near Riyadh.
The main construction works have been fully completed, and the adjacent water park Aquaarabiaready for more than 95%.
Falcon roller coaster set world records
The central attraction of the park will be a roller coaster Falcon, which, according to the organizers, were installed immediately three world records:
- the tallest roller coaster in the world
- the fastest,
- the longest routes in length.
The project is aimed at an international audience and includes five key attractions on record scale.
The first stage of the large-scale launch of Qiddiya facilities
The opening of Six Flags Qiddiya City will be the beginning of the phased commissioning of about 70 properties, planned as part of the Qiddiya project.
At the same time, construction continues:
- Crown Prince Stadium Mohammed bin Salman,
- performing arts center,
- high speed racetrack,
- complexes Mercedes-Benz Performance World,
- golf courses,
- esports and video game zones.
Part of the Vision 2030 strategy
The Qiddiya project is one of the key initiatives of the national program Vision 2030, aimed at reducing dependence on oil revenues, developing tourism and creating a world-class entertainment industry in the country.
It is expected that the launch of Six Flags Qiddiya City will significantly increase the flow of tourists and strengthen Saudi Arabia's position as one of the leading entertainment centers in the Middle East.
